“The Spider” to face “Prime Time” on Halloween
The UFC has targeted Halloween 2020 to be Anderson Silva’s 24th and perhaps his final appearance inside the octagon. Following episode three of the Dana White’s Contender Series, the UFC president talked to the media. During the scrum it came out that the UFC is working on scheduling Anderson “The Spider” Silva against Uriah “Prime Time” Hall to headline the UFC’s October 31st event.
Silva (34-10) has only won one of his last eight fights. The 45-year-old’s last victory came by unanimous decision over Derek Brunson at UFC 208 in February of 2017. The Brazilian legend was last in action at UFC 237, suffering a first round TKO loss to Jared Cannioner. The lose came with injuring himself on a kick for the second time in his career. Silva has recovered from knee surgery and has two fights left on his contract. During his middleweight title reign Silva registered 11 successful title defenses.
Hall (15-9) burst on to the UFC scene as a member of the TUF 17 cast. The 36-year-old has won three of his last four fights. At UFC 232 Hall scored a come from behind knockout win over Bevon Lewis. In his lone fight of 2019 “Prime Time” won a decision over fellow top 15 ranked contender Antonio Carlos Junior. We’ve yet to see Hall in 2020 the Covid-19 pandemic cancelled two fights against “Jacare” Souza and for unknown reasons Yoel Romero with drew from what would have seen the two fighting in the co-main of UFC Fight Night “Munhoz vs. Edgar”.
