Freire vs. Carvalho Re-scheduled for Bellator’s Nov. 12th Event

The Bellator featherweight grand prix will resume as double champion Patricio “Pitbull” Freire versus Pedro Caralho has been re-booked for the main event of Bellator 251.

 The two were originally scheduled to have their quarterfinal battle in the main event of Bellator 241 in March. The event was cancelled due to covid-19 concerns.  

Freire defeated, now Bellator bantamweight champion, Juan Archuleta by decision in his opening round bout while Carvalho submitted Sam Sicilia in his.

The other quarterfinal yet to happen is Emmanuel Sanchez against Daniel Weichel. The other side of the bracket is down to the semifinals where, former bantamweight champion, Darrion “The Wolf” Caldwell is going to square off with unbeaten AJ “The Mercenary” McKee.  Neither fight has an official date.

Freire (30-4) is the Bellator featherweight & lightweight champion who has 21 finishes, 10 knockouts, & 11 submissions. Carvalho (11-3) is on a six-fight win streak and has six of his eight finishes by submission.

Bellator 252 is November 12th at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut.
