UFC 254 Weigh-ins, Title Fiight a Go, 2 Competitors Heavy
The Flash Forum on Yas Island hosts the UFC 254 weight-ins where twenty-four competitors will step on the scale to make the twelve-figth card official.
The main event a workd title unification bout in the lightweight division was given the green light as both champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov (155) & interim champion, Justin Gaethje (155) both came in at the lightweight limit.
Not everyone hit their intended mark. Joel Alvarez (159.5) got on the scale three and half pound heavy for his lightwight fight against Alexander Yakovlev. Alex Oliveri (173 lbs.) came in two pounds over the welterweight limit for his bout with Shavkat Rakhmonov.
There was even a trio of back fighters who stpped on the scale as a saftey net for a few fights. Michael Chandler the back up for Khabib Nurmagomedov against Justin Gaethje came in at 155 lbs.. Reserve for Casey Kenney versus Nathaniel Wood, Sergey Morozov got on the scale at 139.5 lbs. Isi Fitikefu the saftey net for Magomed Ankalaev versus Ion Cutelaba came in at 203.5 lbs.
The main card is an ESPN+ pay per view at 2 p.m. ET, prelims simalcasted on ESPN2 & ESPN+ at noon ET, & the earl prelims will be streamming on UFC Fight Pass at 11 a.m. ET.
