Mousasi-Salter Title Fight set for August
The Bellator Middleweight title will be on the line in the main event of Bellator 264.
The promotion has announced on August 13th Gegard Mousasi will defended the 185 lb. championship against John Salter, who holds the number one spot in the Bellator Middleweight rankings.
The event will take place at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, and broadcasted on Showtime.
Mousasi (47-7-2) will start his second reign as Bellator middleweight champion ten months after defeating Douglas Lima to claim the title vacated by Rafael Lovato Jr., who beat Mousasi for the belt but had to relinquish it due to health concerns.
Salter (18-4) will be challenging for the Bellator 185 lb. title for the second time. The first shot was earned after five was earned after five straight wins. At Bellator 205 Salter was forced to tap from a Rafael Lovato Jr. rear naked choke. Salter has rebounded with a trio of victories that included submitting Chidi Njokuani & Andrew Kapel.
