Featherweight Title Fight headlines LFA 114
Legacy Fight Alliance has revealed they’ll be crowning a new featherweight champion when the promotion returns to Missouri for LFA 114.
The main event of the August 27th card at The Factory at the District in St. Louis will see Brazil’s Bruno “The Tiger” Souza battling Hawaii’s Canaan Kawaihae for the vacant 145 lbs. Title. LFA 114 will mark the fourth time the Legacy Fighting Alliance has made a trip to the Show Me State.
Souza (9-1) is a 25-year-old protégée of former UFC champion Lyoto Machida. The Karate black belt is on a nine-fight win streak including being 4-0 in the LFA. At LFA 95 Souza scored a knockout of Guilherme Santos and followed it up with a split decision win over Elijah Johns.
Kawaihae is a 23-year-old who’s fought for Bellator and on the Contender Series. At Bellator 213 Kawaihae beat Timothy Teves by decision. In his promotional debut at LFA 105, the Hawaiian submitted former title challenger Jake Childers by Ninja choke.
