The Los Angeles-Burbank Marriott Convention Center in Burbank California host LFA 118 headlined by an LFA Women’s Strawweight championship fight.
The vacant title is up for grabs as BJJ world champion Jaqueline “Jacque” Amorim battles kickboxing world champion Loveth “Nigerian Terminator” Young. Amorim has two of the fastest finishes by female fighters in the LFA knocking out Megan Owen in ten seconds and submitting Taisha Gandy in thirty-three seconds. Young’s devasting striking has been on display in her last two fights stopping Reena Norville & Kelly D’Angelo by TKO. At the top of the broadcast it was announced that the scheduled main event was not sanctioned by the commission and was therefore canceled.
The new main event elevated from the co-main spot has Leandro Gomes against Askar Askar. The Brazilian fight comes in on a four-fight win streak while the Palestinian fighter, stumbled in his last fight and looks to get back to the form that saw him beat Kevin Wirth at LFA 92.
