Ortega vs Rodriguez set for Long Island Headliner
Two of the most exciting finishers in the featherweight division will finally meet in the headliner of the UFC Fight Night on July 16th.
Former title challenger number two ranked Brian “T-City” Ortega is set to square off with TUF Latino winner number three ranked Yair “El Panteta” Rodriguez in a fiver round main event. The July 16th Fight Night will take place at the USB Arena in along Island, New York.
Ortega (15-2) is returning to action for the first time since going five rounds with the champion in September. A second shot at the title that “T-City” earned following a decision win over Chan Sung Jung. Ortega had incredible finishing with instincts as showcased in submitting the likes of cub Swanson and knocking out both Clay Guida and Frankie Edgar.
Rodriguez (13-3) is the owner of the most improbable comeback in UFC history as he knocked out Chan Sung Jung in the last seconds of their main event bout in 2018. A decision win over Jeremy Stephens put “El Panteta” in the group of top contenders.
