Pair of Championship Rematches Top UFC 277

The UFC will be returning to the Lone Star State to close out July with a championship double header of rematches for UFC 277.

UFC 277 will be July 30th at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas Texas.’

The main event will see the rematch for the UFC women’s Bantamweight championship as Amanda Nunes will look to regain the title from Juliana Pena. Tensions between the two have went to another level after being face to face as coaches for season 30 of “The Ultimate Fighter”. This past December Pena pulled off one of the biggest upsets in MMA history submitting Nunes by 2nd round rear naked choke to end the “Lionesses” 12-fight win streak.

During her UFC career Pena has been unapologetically confident about her skills. Many times voice loudly proclaiming she would be the one to topple the unbeatable. Once given the opportunity Pena made good on those words leaving many to believe what can’t she do. On the other side Nunes went from the most dominant force in female mixed martial arts to now having to prove doubter wrong again. Whispers of the former two division champion being a quitter rumbling again. The most powerful striker the women’s bantamweight division has known is once again hungry to regain her throne and prove all the naysayers wrong once more.

The UFC has announced an interim Flyweight title will be on the line in the co-main event of UFC 277. Former champion, Mexico’s Brandon Moreno will be squaring off with New Zealand’s Kai Kara-France. The two met back in December of 2019 with Moreno taking the decision win. Moreno has won three fights since then including going 1-1-1 in a trilogy of contests with current champion Deiveson Figueirdo. Kara-France backs quite the punch scoring tow of his last three win by first round knockout.
