School of Hard Knocks Boxing Round at the Downs set with a 6 Fight Card
It’s a Boxing weekend in Ruidoso. Two days of pugilists showing off their skills will take place at the Ruidoso Downs thanks to Isidro Castillo & his School of Hard Knocks promotions.
On Friday June 17th will be a USA Boxing sanctioned amateur card and on Saturday June 18th will be a 6-fight professional card “Rounds at the Downs”.
The professional headliner with see unbeaten ABF champion Abel “BoBo” Navarrete against Armando Rodriguez. Amarillo’s Navarrete returns to the ring for the first time since November of 2019 but has won his last five y knockout. This past March in Las Cruces Rodriguez returned to the ring after a seven-year layoff to defeat Ricardo Reyes.
In the co-main event unbeaten U.S. Olympian Abraham “The Hammer” Perez looks to continue his rise through the ranks as he takes on 76-fight vet Alejandro Moreno from Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua Mexico. Unbeaten Lubbock native John Medina is set to take on defensive minded John “Smiley” Herrera. Heavy hitting Manuel Eastman of Power & Glory Boxing will square off with Rico Urquizo from Force of One. Belen scrapper Derek Perez will welcome fellow MMA vet Marquis Smith to the ring. And Dallas’s Garrett Lopez will welcome Rolyn New of Bloomfield to the pro ranks.
