Dodson, Sanchez, & Hinshaw added to the BKFC 28 Card
As the card for BKFC 28 continues to grow New Mexico fight fans should be excited by the number of local names being added to the card.
It was recently announced that two-time UFC title challenger John Dodson has signed a multi-fight deal with Bare Knuckle FC. We now know his promotional debut will come here at home against fellow UFC vet Ryan Benoit. Both will be in their first Bare Knuckle fight. Dodson has 10 of 22 MMA win by knockout, while Benoit has 8 of his 10 by knockout. BKFC 28 is August 27th at the Rio Rancho Event Center. The same venue where “The Magician” stopped Nathaniel Wood in February of 2020.
Another Duke City legend taking off the gloves for the first time is former King of the Cage champion Donald Sanchez. A veteran of the ring and the cage Sanchez stepped away from MMA in 2019 after his 50th fight in the sport. Sanchez then turned his attentions to Boxing a sport he had dabbled in, taking three fights in six-months. Welcoming Sancehz back to action will be will Jeremey Smith a 16-fight MMA vet coming off knocking out Davian Green this past April in his BKFC debut.
In a featured women’s contest Fit NHB’s Jayme Hinshaw & Colorado’s Cassie Robb will meet in a rematch of sorts. This will be the first time they fight in Bare Knuckle, but in 2017 Robb beat Hinshaw by TKO in MMA at a King of the Cage event in the same venue. Hinshaw won the KOTC atomweight title, but hasn’t fought since competing for Bellator two and half years ago. Robb has bounced from MMA to Boxing and her last two fight have come in the BKFC squared circle.
Eric Dodson will share the card will his older brother making his Bare Knuckle debut against Nick Villar who fought Trai Santos to a draw in April. LFA vet Joshua Moreno is also taking off the gloves and he’ll be facing Zion Tamlinson who has both his Bare Knuckle wins by knockout. Former KOTC amateur champion Austin Lewis who recently made his pro debut in boxing is also expected to be on the card
