Brady vs Pereira booked to Headline UFC San Antonio
The UFC is coming to the Alamo and bringing a top 15 ranked welterweight showdown to serve as the main event.
The five-round main event will see number eight ranked Sean Brady against number thirteen ranked Michel Pereira. Brady signed with the UFC after capturing the Cage Fury FC Welterweight title. A talented grappler and strong Boxer Brady won his first fights in the octagon including a decision over Michael Chiesa. The 30-year-old from Philadelphia will look to turn things around from his first main event in October where he suffered the first loss of his career to Belal Muhammad.
Pereira has traveled the global competing in MMA long prior to his time in the UFC having fought in Russia, Serbia, Mongolia, Peru, South Korea, & Japan. The 29-year-old from Brazil is an acrobatic striker with a capoeira base who immediately waves in his UFC debut knocking out Danny Roberts with a flying knee. After a of setbacks Pereira has found his footing winning five-fights in a row. Pereira punched his way into the rankings by winning a fight of the night split decision over Santiago Ponzinibbio in May.
The card has booked two other ranked matchups. In the Women’s Flyweight action number nine ranked Andrea Lee faces number twelve ranked Maycee Barber. And in the Women’s Bantamweight division former champion number three ranked Holly Holm squares off with number six ranked Yana Kunitskaya.
