Anderson vs. Davis Booked for June
A Light-Heavyweight showdown is the newest addition to Bellator’s return to the “Windy City”.
Number one ranked Corey “Overtime” Anderson (16-6-0) is set to face off against number two ranked Light-Heavyweight Phil Davis (24-6) in a featured bout at Bellator 297. Very similar in height and reach these opponents will face off as both look to get back in the title mix. They share a similar experience having been defeated by the current champion Vadim Nemkov, who will be fighting Yoel Romero in the main-event.
Corey “Overtime” Anderson (16-6) made his way from the UFC goin on a three fight win streak with defeating Ryan Bader, Dovletdzhan Yagshimuradov, and Melvin Manhoef before stumbling against Vadim Nemkov in the Light-Heavyweight Grand Prix finals.. Phil “Mr Wonderful” Davis (24-6-0) is on a two fight win streak with decisiob wins against Julius Anglickas, and Yoel Romero.
Both fighters went the distance in their last fight. Davis being 5 years older this is a very exciting matchup with the winner finding themselves that much closer to a title shot. Bellator 297 is June 16 from the Wintrust arena in Chicago Illinois.
