JW Fights Weigh-in Results, Fighters Miss Target, One Misses Big
Caged Minds was live on the scene at the JacksonWink Academy for the JW Fights weigh-in’s.
Friday night the Gym will be transformed into a battle ground for the very first JW Fights card. The six-fight card will feature two professional bouts sitting atop a four-fight amateur undercard.
Fighters stepping on the scale included Oakland’s Dwight “Akuma” Maters who’ll be facing North Carolina’s Shawn Morgan in the main event. The co-main event will Columbus speedster Marquis Johnson against North Carolina’s.
The four fighters involved in the nights professional contests all made weight. But on the amateur side of thing two participants failed to hit the mark on their first attempts. Andrew Portillo came in 3lbs. over the 171 lb. limit for Welterweight. The bigger miss came from Jacob Sedillo who came in 12. lbs. over the Middleweight limit. Sedillo weighed 197.6 his second time on the scale.
