Perez & Mendoza Make Weight for Expo Explosion
Caged minds was live on the scene at Bubbas 33 for the Legacy boxing Promotions expo explosion weigh-ins. The eight-fight card is topped by a IBA championship bout.
The nights main event got the green light as both Abraham Perez & short notice opponent Gilberto Mendoza came in under the 112 pound limit. This will be Perez’s first title defense and he also has the opportunity to win a WBC youth title.
The days biggest drama came as it was announced in the morning that Caesar Alvarado had been forced to withdraw from facing Sterling Peak due to a family emergency. By the 2 p.m. weigh-ins the situation was resolved and the fight was back on as scheduled but Alvarado would t be getting in the scale till tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow night the doors at the Manuel Lujan Complex open at 6 p.m. and the first fight is set for 7 p.m.
