Expo Explosion Update, Perez – Mendoza New Main Event
It’s fight week for Legacy Boxing Promotions “Expo Explosion” and if you haven’t paid close attention the card it may look a bit different then the last time you looked at it.
When the card was first announced Abraham Perez & his brother “Angelbaby” where co-headlining in title fights. Injury forced Aaron “Angelbaby” Perez off the card. Abraham went from Agustin Perez Balbuena, to Josh Angel Perez Diaz, and its now announced that due to issues at the border, “Hammer” will face Gilberto Mendoza. Mendoza is no stranger to New Mexico having fought Tony Valdez twice on Legacy cards. Perez’s recently won IBA belt will be on the line.
In the co-main event Cristian “El Puma” Cabral makes his return to the ring against Brawler Daniel Flores-Garcia. Kasey Krummel has withdrawn from her pro debut, Jodranne “OMG” Garcia will now face Citalli Ortiz from Mexicali, Baja California. Daniel Gonzalez also had a few opponent changes going from Derek Perez to Dewayne Bonds, to now facing Shadi Sahawareb on Saturday night. Sahawareb is returning to the ring for the first time in over five-years. A late addition to the card Duke City Underdog’s Martin Armijo will square off against Lubbock, Texas’s Garrett Lopez.
Rosales fighter Katherine Renee Lindenmuth is still on the card welcoming Hobbs’s Theresea Day to the pro ranks. Unbeaten brawlers face off when El Paso’s Cesar Alvarado tangles with Perez Fighting Systems Sterling “Kane” Peak. And opening the card will be Kirkland, New Mexico’s Elija Martinez looking for his second professional win when faces five-fight vet Garrett Lopez from Las Cruces.
Expo Explosion is this Saturday July 15th at the Manuel Lujan Complex on the Expo New Mexico fair grounds. Doors open at 6pm first bell set for 7pm local time.
