UFC 290 Quick Results
The T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada is host to the case event of International Fight Week UFC 290 featuring a championship double dip.
In the main event the UFC Featherweight title will be unified as interim champion Yair “El Pantera” Rodriguez battles reigning champion Alexander “The Great” Volkanovski. This past February the UFC was in Australia, the Featherweight champions home country. Volkanovski the number one ranked fighter in MMA was given an opportunity to become a two division champion. Not wanting to hold up the division the company put an interim title on the line the same night. Falling just short of infamy Volkanovski returns to his weightclass looking for a fifth title defense. At UFC 286 Rodriguez had an electrifying performance submitting Josh Emmett to win the interim title.
In the co-main event Alexandre Pantoja challenges Brandon Moreno for the UFC Flyweight title. These two men have known each other since 2016 and TUF 24. In the opening round of the TUF 24 tournament the then number 1 seed Alexnadre Pantoja submitted number 16 seeded Brandon Moreno. In 2018 Pantoja picked up a decision win over Moreno for the first official win in the rivalry. Pantoja comes in on a three fight win streak. Moreno comes in off settling the UFC Flyweight title picturing bettering Deiveson Figueiredo in a best of four series of fights.
