The UFC Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada hosts UFC Fight Night “Holm vs. Bueno Silva”. The top ten Women’s Bantamweight clash sits on top of a 13-fight card.
In the main event it’s number 3 ranked Women’s Bantamweight, former champion Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm against number 10 ranked Brazilian Mayra Bueno Silva. With Amanda Nunes recent retirement leaving the championship vacant an impressive performance could lead the winner to a title opportunity. Even at 40-years old Holm as shown no signs of slowing down having won three of her last four fight all against ranked competition. Bueno Silva has earned her first main event having won all three of her fights since moving up to Bantamweight including consecutive submission wins.
The co-main event will see number 14 ranked welterweight Jack Della Maddalena squaring off against short notice opponent Bassil Hafez. JDM had been scheduled to fight at UFC but a staph infection stopped Sean Brady from making it to fight week. The Australian was then booked to battle Josiah Harrell who was taken off the card after a rare medical condition was discovered during pre fight screening. Hafez gets the call to the octagon after twice having won the CFFC welterweight title.
