The Pechanga Arena in San Diego, California, hosts Bellator 300. To celebrate this historical moment the promotion will present a triple header of championship contests’. A trip to the Lightweight Grand Prix finals is on the line as Brent Primus challenges Usman Nurmagomedov for the Bellator Lightweight title. The long awaited Women’s Featherweight title fight as all time great Cris Cyborg defends her crown against “Alpha” Cat Zingano. And former champion Ilima-Lei Macfarlane attempts to regain the Bellator Women’s Flyweight title when she challenges reigning champion and former training partners Liz Carmouche.
Usman Nurmagomedov racked up his second successful title defense in the main event winning a dominate unanimous decision over Brent Primus. The former champion was game to hang in the fight for all 25-minutes but offered up little trouble for promotions 25-year old phenom. Straight punches, question mark kicks, and an arsenal of takedowns kept Primus off balance the entire night. Cris Cyborg added to her championship legacy smashing Kat Zongano inside of a round. The Cyborg boxing combinations would force Zingano into a takedown attempt, stuffing the shot Cyborg would stop Zingano with strikes on the ground scoring her first win in MMA in over a year. It would take to the beginning of the fifth round but Liz Carmouche would stop her former training partner Ilima-Lei Macfarlane after a barrage of leg kicks to retain the Bellator Women’s Flyweight title.
