Jon Jones out of UFC 295, Heavyweight title fight still in card

UFC President, Dana White has announced that an injury has forced Jon Jones to withdraw from UFC 295 Main event.

The UFC 295 main event was to see John Jones, widely considered the greatest MMA Fighter of all time defending the UFC heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic, widely considered the greatest heavyweight champion in UFC history.  Jones suffered a shoulder injury during training that will negate those plans.

The UFC will audible to elevating the Cain event into the main event slot. The headliner of the November 11th card at Madison Square Garden will be be Jiri Prochazka versus Alex Pereira for the vacant UFC Light-Heavyweight title. This will be Prochaza‘s first fight since a shoulder injury forced him to vacate the light heavyweight championship last December. In July Pereira a former Middleweight champion made his debut at 205 lbs. outlasting for champion Jan Blachowicz.

The co-main event will now see an interim heavyweight champion crowned as number two ranked Russian Sergei Pavlovich faces number two ranked Englishman Tom Aspinall the number four ranked contender. Pavlovich has 15 wins by knockout including 6 consecutive first round knockouts. Aspinall has 100% finishing rate including 6 finishes in the octagon with 4 knockouts and 2 submissions.
