BKFC 55 Results, Warren makes Quick Work of Christie

Following up on a hugely successful debut in Bulgaria BKFC is back  in the birth place of Bare Knuckle.  Day two of back to back events in Europe for Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship sees the squared circle at Planet Ice Arena in Leeds England for BKFC 55. An 11-fight card is headlined by a Light-Heavyweight showdown.

In the main event England’s Danny “The Bastard” Christie faces American Jared “Captain Deadpool” Warren with a title opportunity on the line. Christie made his promotional debut last August and has record three wins by knockout. We last saw “The Bastard” at BKFC 40 defeating Anthony Holmes by fourth round knockout. Warren has won four of his last five fights with three coming by knockout. At BKFC 47 “Captain Deadpool” fought Josh Dyer for an interim Light-Heavyweight title. The fight was ruled a no contest after Warren was hit in the back of his head.

Recap

Jared Warren made sure the work part of his trip to England didn’t take up to much of his time. Warren equated Danny Christie with the ground on three occasions to earn the first round TKO. The first two knockdowns both thanks to “Captain Deapool’s” straight left. Christie touched the mat for a third time courtesy of a solid jab. Upon inspection the referee waived off the bout.

Bart Krol truly does outlast Anthony Holmes in the co-main event. Both fighters had done well to land hard and answer back. As Krol Stood for a decisive final round the Holmes corner waived off the fight. Matt Hodson scored three knockdowns to stop Mason Shaw in by second round technical knockout. Uppercuts in the clinch were responsible for the first two knockdowns while the final blow was a right hand at distance, all landing to Shaw’s left eye.

Danny Mitchell made well of his height and reach advantage to earn a decision win over John Ferguson in his debut to the sport. A perfectly placed left hand from Darren Hendry into Luke Atin’s left eye earned a second-round knockout and his second win in the promotion. Right hands ripped back and forth as Gary Fox battled through a hole over the left side of his lip, filling his mouth with blood, to put the pace and pressure on Robbie Brown to win a unanimous decision. Conor Cooke against Nathan Owens made it to the third round before Cooke collected the TKO win. Cooke knocked down Owens two times, the second time from a jab right hook around the guard was too much to recover from. While Karl Thompson & David Oscar had matching bloody right eyes after their ten-minute affair it was clear that the right hands of Karl Thompson had been more effective continually backing up Oscar to win the  decision. The main card opener saw veteran Boxer Antonio Moscatiello stop Hynek Hospodarsky in his Bare-Knuckle debut thanks to massive right hands.

In the feature prelim Paul Cook rebounded from a slow start to take a decision win over Luke Nevin off the strength of his clinch work. Jonny Graham showed off slick head movement adding in body work for his first knockdown and finishing Abel Radomski in the second round after sticking a punch in his left eye in the second round. And in the opening fight it was a plethora of right hands utilized by Agi Faulkner to stop Rob Cunningham inside the first minute.
