LFA 171 Results, Cunha Chokes title away from Neves
Legacy Fighting Alliance has taken a trip to South American for LFA 171. The 12-fight card features a championship doubleheader as an interim Lightweight title and the promotions Heavyweight title are both on the line.

In the main event Eduardo Neves defends the LFA Heavyweight title against Hudo Cunha. Both giants have a one hundred percent finishing rate and last wins are both first round knockouts. In the co-main event unbeaten Lightweights battle for an interim title when Gabriel Costa, who has finishes in seven of his eight victories faces Jefferson Nascimento who has six finishes in his ten wins.
Recap
Hudo Cunha waged his way past a kick heavy offense from Eduardo Neves to secure his takedown in the second round. Strikes from mount opened up the arm-triangle choke submission for the finish. Hudo Cunha the new LFA Heavyweight champion. After moving around the majority of the first round while Gabriel Costa threw strikes Jefferson Nascimento came out on fire in the second round launching hooks and overhands. A left hook clipped Nascimento who quickly recovered putting Costa down from a right hand to claim the interim LFA Lightweight title.
Marcio Barbosa stalked after Gian Starturi launching hooks from both sides. Closing his opponents’ options for escape Barbosa put Starturi down with a grenade like left hook. A few follow-up shots on the ground sealing the deal. Three takedowns in the final two rounds and an active attacking ground game saw Marcos Degli earn a unanimous decision win over Alisson Murilo. Bellator vet Jose Augusto made a successful LFA debut as he swept the score cards defeating Rcardo Eduardo. Michael Oliveria set a pace Antonio Eduardo couldn’t keep up with firing strikes while pushing Eduardo back. Catching a kick Oliveira would finish Eduardo with strikes on the ground.
