6 LFA events on tap for the remaining 1st Quarter of 2024
Legacy Fighting Alliance got 2024 off to a hot start crowning a new Lightweight champion in the Land of 10,000 Lakes. The promotion is ready to kick it into full gear as the remainder of the first quarter calendar will see six more events in two countries.
LFA will return to south America two times before the end of March. The promotion is returning to Cajamar, Sao Paulo, Brazil January 27th for LFA 175. In the main event Bruno Lopes, who has 100% finishing rate defends his LFA Light-Heavyweight title against Marcos “Ironside” Brigagao who’s won three of his last four fights.
Two weeks later the company will return to the Valley of the Sun for LFA 176. The Arizona Financial Theatre in Phoenix will see a rematch for the LFA Featherweight championship. The main event will see Javier “El Mariachi” Garcia faces Elijah Johns. The two met in the main event of LFA 163 where Garcia would have an arm-triangle choke tightly in place. The ref jumped in crowning Garcia champion having put Johns to sleep. The Johns corner disagreed with the ref assessment that their fighter was unresponsive. Garcia & Johns now have a chance to have the final word in the issue.
February 23rd LFA 177 is in upstate New York, the Seneca Niagara Event Center. The Niagara Falls audience will be treated to a battle for an interim LFA Welterweight championship. The five-round headliner has Devin “The Prodigy” Smyth taking on Shamidkhan Magomedov. Smyth will fight for the title after going viral for knocking out Jonathan Piersma by spinning wheel kick at LFA 167. Magomedov submitted Kohlman Scribner in his promotional debut at LFA 155 and beat Bakhromjon Mashrapov at LFA 167.
Three events have been scheduled for March. March 8th there will be California love as LFA 178 takes place at the KP Arena in Santa Cruz. For the second time in the first quarter of the year LFA returns to Brazil for LFA 179 at the Complexo Ribalta in Rio Janeiro on March 23rd. The Bluegrass state will host LFA 180 on March 30th at the Broadbent Arena in Louisville, Kentucky.
