LFA 178 set March 8th in Northern California

Legacy Fighting Alliance will be visiting the Golden State for the seventeenth time at the beginning of March for LFA 178. The main event is for an interim Light-Heavyweight title.

LFA 178 takes place on March 8th at the Kaiser Permanente Arena in Santa Cruz, California.

In the main event Kyrgyzstan’s Uran Satybaldiev squares off with Brazil’s Bruno Assis. The winner will go on to unify titles with Bruno Lopes later in the year.

Satybaldiev (6-1) is a Sambo master whose won a regional title in Central Asia. “Gorilla” ran off five consecutive knockout wins to start his career. At LFA 165 Satybaldiev debuted in the very same venue LFA 178 will originate from, defeating Gabriel Thimoteo by unanimous decision.

Assis (13-6) is a three-art form black belt who’s fought for LFA gold & on the Contenders Series. The fighter nicknamed “Brunao” has black belts in Brazilian jiu jitsu, karate, & Judo. The 31-year-old has won four of his last five fights. Assis has collected three of the four wins by submission including an armbar of Jesse Murray at LFA 145.
