Bellator returns to Paris in May with a championship doubleheader
The second Bellator Champion Series event of 2024 will come with two title fights and have the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower.
Bellator championship Series Paris is set for May 17 at the Accor Arena in Paris France.
The main event will see Usman Nurmagomedov defending the Bellator Lightweight title against Alexander Shabliy. Nurmagomedov won the title defeating Patricky Freire at Bellator 288. His first sense came by submitting Benson Henderson. It’s almost surprising that Nm is still champion considering his fight with Brett premise in October was overturned to a no contest due to testing positive for a performance enhancing substance. He’s now in search of an official second successful defense. Shabliy has won five in a row under the Bellator Banner. This past November he defeated Patricky Frei earning his way into the Bellator Grand Prix finals which don’t look like they’ll be happening.
In the co-main event Patchy “No Love” Mix defends the Bellator Bantamweight in a rematch against Magomed Magomedov. Mix heads into his first title defense in n a six-fight win streak. “No Love” had a banner year is 2023 knocking out Raufeon Stots to win the Bellator Bantamweight Grand Prix and submitted Sergio Pettis to the Bellator undisputed Bellator Bantamweight world champion. At Bellator 289, in their first meeting Mix submitted Magomedov in the second round. Magomedov got back into the win column seven-months later submitting Danny Sabatello.
