UFC Vegas 88 Results, Tybura’s Ground game Overcomes Tuisvasa’s Power
The UFC homebase the Apex in Las Vegas Nevada hosts UFC Fight Night Tuivasa vs. Tybura.
The full 12-fight card streams on ESPN+. In the main event we have a top ten Heavyweight encounter. Loveable Aussie knockout artist, number nine ranked Tai “Bam Bam” Tuirvasa squares off with Poland’s number ten ranked Marcin “Tybur” Tybura.
Heavyweight fights aren’t marathons they’re spirits. Just cause Marcin Tybura stopped Tai Tuivasa in the first round doesn’t mean it was an easy fight. Tybura submitted Tuivasa in the final minute on the opening round.
Tuivasa known as slugger came out guns blazing, letting go of right hands and elbows. Blood dripping down the left side of his head Tybura secured a double leg takedown. Tybura takes the back, unloading a hailstorm of strikes opens up a rear naked choke for Tybura’s 8th submission win. The finish was a bit confusing as Tuivasa was trapped didn’t tap, wasn’t asleep, and didn’t protest the stoppage.
A third win in his last four fights should see Tybura and Tuivasa switching spots in the rankings. Overall, that was the 16th finish for the 38-year-old.
