Blachowicz vs. Adesanya targeted for UFC 259
It appears that in March Israel Adesyana will attempt to become a double champion.
While not officially announced by the UFC, social media has been a buzz as Adesanya’s head coach Eugen Bareman has revealed that the UFC Middleweight champion is going to move up a weight-class to challenge Jan Blachowicz for the UFC Light-heavyweight title on March 6th.
Adesanya is unbeaten in his MMA career including a 9-0 mark inside the octagon. In October of 2019, the Nigerian fighter scored a second-round knockout of Robert Whittaker to capturing the 185 lb. championship. “The Last Stylebender” has defended his throne twice defeating Yoel Romero by decision & knocking out Paulo Costa at UFC 253.
UFC Light-heavyweight champion Jan Blachowicz is on a four-fight win streak and has won eight of his last nine fights. At UFC 253 the Polish fighter won the 205 lb. championship by second-round knockout od Dominick Reyes. Blachowicz’s third knockout win in the last two years.
UFC 259 is scheduled for March 6th, where we know Megan Anderson will challenge Amanda Nunes for the UFC women’s featherweight title. The card has also recently gained Tim Elliott versus Jordan Espinosa, originally set for January 16th,
