Rob Font faces former Champ in May 22nd UFC Main Event
Massachusetts’ fighter Rob Font will be in his first UFC main event on May 20th and it will come against the former champ who shows “No Love” for the competition.
The Number three ranked contender Rob Font will take on number four ranked Cody “No Love” Garbrandt in what I would assume is a title eliminator.
Font has put himself in this position following three straight wins. Beating Sergio Pettis & Ricky Simon by decision. His most recent win in December, a first-round knockout of former WSOF champion Marlon Moraes. Known as a technical stiker you can’t forget that a third of Font’s finishes have been submissions.
Last June Garbrandt ended a three-fight skid scoring a second-round knockout of perennial contender Raphael Assuncao. The former champ then set his sights on the flyweight title. A torn bicep halted those plans. The injury has apparently made Garbrandt reconsider his move down 10 lbs. and has refocused “No Love” on regaining the title that brought him prestige.
