McKenzie vs. Jones Headlines first LFA of 2022
Legacy Fighting Alliance will start 2022 where the promotion hosted their very first event.
The Factory in Dallas, Texas will be host for LFA 121 on January 14th. The main event will see Oklahoma’s Aaron McKenzie against California’s Joshua Jones. McKenzie is a protégé of former Legacy FC & Bellator Middleweight world champion Rafael Lovato Jr. The 33-year-old has won all three of his fights in the LFA beating both Joe Giannetti & Brandon Phillips by unanimous decision. Jones makes his promotional debut having won three of his last four fights. All three wins came in Bellator including a first-round submission of Dominic Clark and a second round TKP of Johnny Cisneros.
The co-main event will see Fortis MMA’s Elijah Johns battling Brandon “Pretty Boy” Philips who’s also competed professionally in Kickboxing & Boxing. A pair of heavy hitters square off at Middleweight as Steve Jones faces Thomas Powell. Armed with the momentum of consecutive win Isaiah Gutierrez returns to the LFA to square off with 11-fight vet Keeton “Flash” Gorton
“LFA 1 was a monumental event as it was the first event after the merger of RFA and Legacy FC. This created the premier developmental organization in Mixed Martial Arts, which has since expanded worldwide with international events and a partnership with UFC FIGHT PASS. It will be fun to return to Dallas at LFA 121 to celebrate everything we have accomplished in the 120 shows we hosted since our inaugural event at The Factory in Deep Ellum”, said LFA president Ed Soraes to LFA.com.
