Junior Assuncao Returns to XFC
Former UFC fighter and XFC Lightweight champion Junior Assuncao (13-5), who has not fought since December of 2011 has sign to return to his old stomping grounds, the XFC but this to compete at Featherweight and Lightweight.
Assuncao, a BJJ black belt was on a 7 fight winning streak that included defeating John Marhlow to become the XFC Lightweight champion and in the UFC earning a decision win over Eddie Yagin, was released from the UFC after his first loss; going 1-1 in his stint with thew promotion.
Assuncao a member of the Hardcore Gym, has 6 of 9 stoppage wins in his career by submission. There’s been no official word on when Assuncao will make his in cage promotional return.
