Taylor vs. Njokuani, Lineker vs. Harris, Hetts vs. Wilkinson, Jimmo vs. Manuwa added to UFN 30

Will the third time be the charm? Paul Taylor (11-6-1) vs. Anthony “The Assassin” Njokuani (16-7)h as been put together for UFC Fight Night 30. This is the 3rd time the match-up has been made, with the previous two times injuries forcing Taylor to withdraw.

In fact injury has sidelined Taylor since UFC 126, when he ended a 2 fight skid by knocking out Gabe Ruediger; in February 2011. Njokuani who is just 4-4 since a 3 fight winning streak, is coming off a UFC on Fox 7 knockout of Roger Bowling.

John “Hands of Stone” Lineker (22-6) and Phil “Billy” Harris (22-10) expected to fight at UFC 163, until Harris bowed out due to injury. Harris thought he would be going to Lineker’s home nation to fight and instead he will at home in England. Lineker who missed weight at UFC 163, did collect him 3rd straight win at UFC 163 with TKO of Jose Maria; who looked to injury his knee before falling to the floor and being finished. Harris is 1-1 in the UFC after a unanimous decision win over Ulysses Gomez, bouncing back from a submission loss to Darren Uyenoyama; that ended a 5 fight winning streak.

Looking to avoid the first losing streaks of their careers is what Jimy “The Kid” Hettes (10-1) and Mike “The Warrior” Wilkinson (8-1) will be looking to do when they collide. Hettes is coming off a UFC 152 unanimous decision loss to Marcus Brimage. Wilkinson had his first taste of defeat at UFC on Fuel TV 10 when Rony Jason used a triangle choke to secure victory.

After a unanimous decision loss to James Te Huna, Ryan “Big Deal” Jimmo (18-2) bounced back to earn a unanimous decision over Igor Pokrajac; and will now meet the undefeated “Poster Boy” Jimi Manuwa (13-0). Manuwa in the UFC has TKO wins over Kyle Kingsbury and Cyrille Diabate.

UFC Fight Night 30 which had been rumored to be number 29, takes place on October 26th, at the Phones 4U Arena in Manchester, England. The main event will see top Middleweights in action with Michael “The Count” Bisping vs. Mark “The Filipino Wrecking Machine” Munoz.
