XFC 26 adds Casey vs. Gonzalez for Gold & Clark vs. VanBuren
The inaugural XFC Women’s Flyweight champion will be crowned on October 18 at XFC 26: Night of Champions III, taking place at the Municipal Auditorium in Nashville, Tennessee. Battling for the championship will be Cortney “Cast Iron” Casey (1-0) of Animal Fitness meeting Pearl Gonzalez (1-1) of Combat-Do. The ladies of the Strawweight division will also be in a featured bout with “Hurricane” Heather Clark (5-4) of Syndicate MMA facing Brianna “The Bull” Van Buren (1-1) Antdawg’s USH.
Cortney “Cast Iron” Casey is coming off a pro debut win submission win over Kelly Warren at XFC 24. As an amateur Casey went 6-2 and held the Flyweight titles for Tuff-N-Uff and Coalition of Combat.
Pearl Gonzalez made her promotional debut at XFC 22 defeating Suzie Montero by armbar, bouncing back from a majority decision pro debut loss to Munah Holland. Gonzalez as an amateur went 7-1, as well as holding 2 amateur titles, winning a NAGA tournament, and an absolute Jiu Jitsu belt.
Heather Clark will be looking to end a 2 fight losing streak having dropped back to back decisions to Stephanie Ehhink and Felice Herrig. “The “Hurricane” last won at XFC 18 by submitting Avery Vilche. Clark has all 5 of her wins by stoppage with 3 coming by submission.
Brianna VanBuren after a 4-0 amateur career and a pro debut knock out of Charlene Gellner; “The Bull” is now looking to get back in the win column after a XFC 23 decision loss to Stephanie Eggink.
