The WarMaster Meets Hapa at UFC 168
A pivotal bout for the UFC’s Heavyweight division has been added to Decembers UFC 168 with Josh “The Warmaster” Barnett (33-6) vs. Travis “Hapa” Browne (15-1-1).
Since dropping a decision to Daniel Cormier in the Strikeforce Heavyweight Grand Prix finals, Barnett has charged forward with a submission of Nandor Guelmino and in his long waited return to the octagon scored a Knockout win over fellow, former, UFC Heavyweight champion Frank Mir. Barnett has won 10 of his last 11 fights.
At UFC on FX 8 Travis Browne suffered a knee injury and his first pro loss to Antonio Silva. “Hapa” has since his recovery stormed right back into the thick of the title hunt having scored consecutive Knockout wins over former UFC title challenger Gabriel Gonzga and over former Strikeoforce Heavyweight champion Alistair Overeem. Prior to this announcement, rumors had Browne next facing Stipe Miocic.
UFC 168 takes place on December 18th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event will see Anderson “The Spider” Silva challenging Chris Weidman for the UFC Middleweight title.
