UFC on Fox 9 adds Mendes vs. Lentz & Jorgensen vs. McCall
A pair of matches in two of the UFC’s Lighter weight classes have been announced for the UFC on Fox event, with a Featherweight bout pitting Chad “Money” Mendes (15-1) against Nik “The Carny” Lentz (24-5-2) and Ian “Uncle Creepy” McCall (12-4-1) will welcome Scott “Young Guns” Jorgensen (14-7) to the Flyweight division.
Since failing to dethrone reigning Featherweight champion Jose Aldo, Medes has Knock out Cody Mckenzie, Yaotzin Meza, Darren Elkins and most recently Clay Guida,
Elkins since moving down to Featherweight has grinded out wins over Eiji Mitsuoka, Diego Nunes, and Hacran Dias.
At UFC 163 McCall defeated Iliarde Santos to get back in the win column after since last 3 contest saw a pair of losses to Joseph Benavidez and Demetrious Johnson; while also having fought Johnson to a draw.
Long time top 10 Bantamweight Jorgensen moves to Flyweight after 3 straight losses to Renan Barao, Eddie Winedland, and Urijha Faber; two of which earned the Fight of the Night awards.
These fights join the already announced co-main event of “The California Kid” Urijha Faber vs. Michael “Mayday” MacDonald and main event of Josh “The Punk” Thomson being the first person to challenge Anthony “Showtime” Pettis for his newly won UFC Lightweight title. UFC on Fox 9 take place on December 14th, at the Sleep Train Arena in Sacramento, California.
