UFC 168 adds Del Rosario vs. Filho & Bahadurzada vs. Howard

The UFC has announced a pair of bouts that has made there way on the UFC 168 card with at Heavyweight Carlos Filho (6-2) vs. Shale Del Rosario (11-2) and at Welterweight Siyar “The Great” Bahadurzada (21-5-1) vs. John “Doomsday” Howard (21-8).

Filho is currently on a 4 fight win streak that includes a unanimous decision win over Virgil Zwicker at Strikeforce- Barnett vs. Cormier, in May of 2012. Filho had been scheduled to face Jon Vilante at a Strikeforce event, but the event was canceled.

Del Rosario after an 11 straight wins, that included going 3-0 in Strikeforce ; came over to the UFC in the merger. Since that time Del Rosario has been knocked out by Stipe Miocic and Pat Barry.

Bahadurzada was most recently scheduled to face Robbie Lawler at UFC on Fox 8 but due to injury withdrew from the bout. The last time we saw Bahadurzada in action Dong Hyun Kim ended his 7 fight winning streak with a grappling expo; that led to a unanimous decision.

A 3 fight losing streak led to the release of John Howard from the UFC. Outside the promotion “Doomsday” would win 6 of 7 fights. Howard return to the UFC as short notice replacement at UFC fight Night 26, and up a weight class to Middleweight; defeated Uriah Hall by split decision.

UFC 168 takes place on December 28th, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The event will feature two title fights with Meisha Tate challenging Ronda Rousey for the UFC women’s Bantamweight title and Anderson “The Spider” Silva challenges “All American” Chris Weidman for the UFC Middleweight title.
