Esquibel Returns to the Ring on January 18
Jackson’s/Winkeljohns trained fighter Jodie Esquible who over the last 2 years has fought in MMA is returning to her roots on January 18, at the Five Star Banquet in Long Island City, Queens, New York; taking on Eileen “The Hawaiian Mongoose” Olszewski in a Boxing match.
Esquible became a pro boxer in 2005 going (6-6-1, 2 KO’s), before taking a break from the sport after a unanimous decision loss to Ji-Hyun Park on December 11, 2011. Esquible’s last victory in the ring came a bout prior, defeating Savanna Hiull by unanimous decision. In between those last 2 boxing matches, is when Esquibel made her pro MMA debut, with a TKO victory over Brittany Horton. Since her last Boxing match Esquible has defeated Any Riehle (UD), signed with the all female MMA promotion Invicta FC, defeated Liz MaCarthy (SD), and most recently lost to Alex Chambers. Esquibel has also crossed over to commentator working with the New Mexico based Triple A MMA Promotion.
Olszewski (8-5-2, 1 KO) who has fought in Italy, Germany, Florida, and New York; has been a pro Boxer since November 2006. Olszewski in her first 15 months as a pro went (5-0-1), but has since went (3-5-1). Olszewski most recently ended a 3 fight losing streak with a 8th round TKO victory over Patricia Alcivar, avenging unanimous decision loss to Alcivar from a bout prior.
