Loughran Out, Sato in vs. Silva at UFC Fight Night 36
The explosive Erick Silva (15-4) will now face Takenori Sato (17-8-7) at UFC Fight Night 36, after it was announced that originally scheduled opponent Nate Loughran (11-1); had withdrawn due to injury.
Silva is 3-3 in the UFC including going 1-1 in 2013 submitting Jason High and then being knocked out by Dong Hyun Kim.
Sato a vet of Sengoku, Deep, and Pancrase will be making his UFC debut not having lost a fight, since losing his third straight in April of 2010. In the three and half years since that loss Sato has gone undefeated with (8-0-2); and has won his last 2 bouts both by submission.
UFC Fight Night 36 takes place on February 15, at the Arena Jatagua in Jagaua Do Sul in Santa Catrina, Brazil; headlined by a Middleweight bout between former UFC Light Heavyweight champion Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida former Dream and Strikeforce world champion Gegard “The Dreamcatcher” Mousasi.
