UFC 170 adds Koch vs. Oliveira
In today’s MMA it’s not strange for a fighter to move weight classes after a loss, but how most fightewrs move down in weight Eirk Koch (13-3) has decided to move up to Lightweight and welcoming “New Breed” to the division will be Rafaello “Tractor” Oliveira (17-7).
Koch a member of the Roufsport team won 4 fights in a row, working his way towards a shot at Featherweight champion Jose Aldo. But after consecutive losses to Ricardo Lamas (TKO) and Dustin Poirier (UD) “New Breed”, who has 7 of 10 stoppage wins by submission; will look for a fresh start 10 lbs. north.
Oliveira trains at the AMA Fight Club and is in back against the wall mood having gone 3-1 in his last 4 fights with losses to Gleison Tibau (SUB), Yves Edwards (TKO), and Edson Bardoza; while having his hand raised with a unanimous decision win over Yoislandy Izquierdo.
UFC 170 takes place on February 22, at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas, Nevada; headlined by Sara McMann challenging Ronda Rousey for the Women’s UFC Bantamweight title.
