Holdsworth vs. Kang & Sicilia vs. Choi added to UFC 173
The UFC has announced a pair of additions to the May UFC 173 event with at Bantamweight Chris Holdsworth (5-0) takes on Kyung Ho Kang (12-7) and at Featherweight Sam Sicilia (12-4) squares off with Doo Ho Choi (11-1).
Holdsworth a Team Alpha Male member is coming off winning the 18th season of The Ultimate Fighter by scoring his 5th career win by submission, forcing Davie Grant to tap from a rear naked choke.
Kang is coming off of claiming his first UFC victory by submitting Shunichi Shimizu, after a decision losses to Chico Camus and Alex Caceres that was later changed to a no contest.
Sicilia will enter the cage in need of a win being 1-3 in his last 4 fights with his lone win coming over Godofredo “Pepy” Castro (TKO), and having losses to Rony Jason (TKO), Maximo Blanco (UD), and Cole Miller (SUB).
Choi will make his octagon debut on a 9 fight winning streak that includes 5 consecutive knock out wins.
UFC 173 takes place on May 24 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada; headlined by Vitor Belfrot challenging Chris Weidman fro the UFC Middleweight title.
