Maldonado Wins his 18th

The February 10, Fox Sports, Golden Boy, Monday Night fights main event featured Albuquerque, New Mexico’s “The Atrisco Kid” Fidel Maldonado Jr. in a 10 round affair with short notice replacement John Nater.

 After a feeling out process of a 1^st round, Maldonado would catch up to his allusive opponent dropping Nater with a left hook to the body in the 2^nd rd. Maldonado would spend the 3^rd and 4^th rounds stalking his prey throwing nasty uppercuts in the clinch and using every inch of space to get off punches. Body shots took a tole on Nater earning a 2^nd knockdown. Between the 4^th and 5^th rounds Nater’s corner would throw in the towel; giving “The Atrisco Kid” his 15^th career win by knockout.
