Swofford Challenges Alvey for Middleweight Gold at MFC 40
The final of three title fights taking place at MFC 40: Crowned Kings has been made official with Wes Swofford (9-4) challenging “Smilin” Sam Alvey (21-5-0-1) for the MFC Middleweight strap.
Swofford is 6-2 in his last 8 fights. In his last bout in the MFC Swofford knocked out Jay Silva at MFC 36. Most recently Swofford knocked out Tramain Smith bouncing back from a submission loss to Tomasz Drwal.
Alvey a long time member of Team quest is 4-1 in his last 5 fights. Alvey has a pair of knock outs on either side of a unanimous decision loss to Elvis Mutapcic, which includes stopping Jason South with 4 seconds left on the clock in their 5 round title bout at MFC 38.
Alvey vs. Swofford joins Tom Gallicchio vs. Kurt Southern and Kevin Croom vs. Anthony Birchak as title bouts being featured at MFC 40: Crowned Kings on May 9, at the Shaw Conference Centre in Edmonton Alberta, Canada.
