UFC 172 adds Benavidez vs. Elliott
The newest addition to UFC 172 is a match-up of top ten Flyweights looking to get back in the win column.
Coming off a 2nd loss to UFC Flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson, Team Alpha Male’s Joseph Benavidez (19-4) will next look up with Team Curran’s Tim Elliott (10-4-1), who last bout ended with a decision loss to Ali Bagautinoz.
After a split decision loss to Demetrious Johnson in the inaugural Flyweight title bout, Benavidez would then defeat Ina McCall (UD), Darren Uyenoyama (KO), and Jussier Silva (TKO); before knocked out by Johnson in their 2nd encounter.
After an on short notice promotional debut decision loss to Jon Dodson, Elliott would claim consecutive decision victories over Jared Papazian and Louis Gaudinot; before the loss to Bagautinov.
UFC 172 is on April 26, at the Baltimore Arena in Baltimore, Maryland; headlined by Glover Teixeira challenging Jon “Bones” Jones for the UFC Light Heavyweight title.
