UFC on Fox 11 adds Cerrone vs. Barboza
A Lightweight bout that is a heavy favorite for a post fight award has been announced for UFC on Fox 11.
The lofty goals of fighting 6 fights in one year, that Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone (22-6) recently made public is one step closer to being achieved as his 2nd bout of the year has been made official for April 19, against fellow dynamic striker Edson Barboza (13-1).
Since the calender turned to 2011 and the WEC merged with the UFC, Cerrone has fought an astonishing 12 time going 9-3. In his last 2 fights the “Cowboy” has stopped Evan Dunham (SUB) and Adriano Martins (KO).
Since a TKO loss to former WEC Lightweight champion Jamie Varner, Barboza has claimed consecutive victories over Lucas Martins (TKO), Rafaello Oliveira (TKO), and Danny Castillo (MD).
UFC on Fox 11 at the Amway Arena in Orlando, Florida, is headlined by Fabricio Werdum battling Travis Browne for the Heavyweight divisions number 1 contender spot.
