Troeng Injured, Replace by Strickland Against McDaniel at UFC 171
Undefeated former King of the Cage Middleweight champion Sean “Tarzan” Strickland (13-0) has received and accepted an on short notice call up to the big leagues.
A shoulder injury has forced Tor Troeng (16-5-1) to withdraw from a UFC 171 meeting with fellow TUF 17 alum Bubba “The Menace” McDaniel (21-7).
Strickland has not fought since a August first round TKO of Matt Lagler at KOTC- Split Decision. “Tarzan” has 10 stoppage wins with 7 knock out and 8 1st round victories.
After submitting Gilbert Smith at the TUF 17 Finale McDaniel would loose a unanimous decision to Brad Tavares that snapped a 7 fight win streak.
UFC 171 takes place on March 15, at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, Texas; headlined by Johny “Bigg Rigg” Hendricks and “Ruthless” Robbie Lawler for the vacant UFC Welterweight title.
