TUF Alum’s Chiesa and Trinaldo Will Lock Up at UFC 173
Lightweights, TUF 15 winner Micheal “Maverick” Chiesa (10-1) vs. TUF Brazil season 1’s Francisco “Massaranduba” Trinaldo (14-2) is the newest addition to the UFC 173 card.
Chiesa is 3-1 in his last 4 having submitted Al Iaquinta, Anton Kuivanen, and Colton Smith; while having been submitted by Jorge Masvidal. The “Maverick” has all 8 of his stoppage wins by submission; all choke holds.
Trinaldo is coming off a split decision victory over Jesse Ronson, bouncing back from a submission loss to Piotr Hallman; that proceeded arm-triangle submissions of CJ Keith and Mike Rio. “Massaranduba” has 10 stoppage wins with a 50% knock out to submission ratio.
UFC 173 on May 24, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena is headlined by Lyoto “The Dragon” Machida challenging Chris “All-American” Weidman for the UFC Middleweight title.
