Copeland vs. Jorgensen for Heavyweight Title headlines RFA 16
RFA 16 has been announced for the 1st Bank Center in Broomfield, Colorado for Friday July 25 with the main event pitting Josh Copeland (8-0) against Jan Jorgensen (6-0) for the vacant RFA Heavyweight title.
Both fighters will be making their RFA debuts with Copeland fighting out of the Grudge Training Center and Jorgensen being a member of The Pit Elevated. Copeland has 6 of 8 wins by stoppage including a recent 69 second TKO of Jose Beltran. Jorgensen started off his pro career with 5 straight stoppages including 4 straight TKO’s. Jorgensen is coming off a no contest against Bellator vet Eric Smith.
In the co-main event a Bantamweight contender will be determined as Jarred Mercado (11-1) squares off with Joe Murphy (7-1). Mercado is coming off scoring his 7th win by decision after defeating Josh Huber. While Murphy who has 5 of 7 wins by submission is coming off split decision win over Victor Henry.
