Sound of thunder Preview & Weigh-in Results -

The Shadeh Nightclub & Lounge inside the Buffalo Thunder Resort & Casino hosted the Holmes Boxing Sound of Thunder weigh-in’s.

The 7-fight professional Boxing card is headlined by Espanola brawler Antonio “Tone” Martinez (9-4-4, KO’s) facing Journeymen Luis Gerardi Avila (6-12-3, 4 KO’s) from Nogales, Sonora, Mexico. Both men have 66% of their wins by knockout & are looking to rebound from decision losses.

The co-main event has Albuquerque prospect, undefeated Matthew “Diamond Boy” Griego (8-0, 7 KO’s) against short notice replacement Rondarius Hunter (2-3-1), from Atlanta Georgia. Griego fights for the first time in 10 months, since forcing Alejandro Moreno to quite at Legacy Promotions, Battle for the Brave. Hunter scored a knock out of Austin Lajiness in his last fight, in early June.

Undefeated female fighters Leanna Martinez (3-0) of Espanola, NM & Danielle Saldanha (2-0) of Fort Collins, Colorado, square off in a featured fight. Martinez scored her 2nd win by TKO, just over 4 months ago stopping Karina Solares. Just 4 weeks ago, Saldanha scored a her first knockout, defeating Veronica Valtierra.

At Heavyweight, Albuquerque natives Jesus Sanchez & Lorenzo Benaviedz, who fought twice in the amateurs will meet in their pro debuts. Santa Fe, fighters who both found success in their pro-debuts battle as Ernesto Salvidrez (1-0) squares off with Loreto Olivas (1-0). Albuquerque’s undefeated Ronnie “The Mongoose” Baca, coming off a knock out of the year candidate at Route to Glory, faces Santa Fe’s Jimmy Archuleta (0-0), who’s making his pro debut. Albuquerque fighters in search of that first pro win battle as Mark Jimenez (0-1) takes on Daniel Flores (0-2).
