Championship Doubleheader set for UFC 268
During UFC Fight Night “Barboza vs. Chikadze” the broadcast team broke official news that the Kamaru Usman versus Colby Covington rematch will be one of two title fight at UFC 268.
The other title fight will also be a rematch as Zhang Weili attempts to regain the UFC women’s Strawweight from Rose Namajunas. Weili became champ in 2019 dethroning Jessica Andrade by a first round knockout. The Chinese fighter defeated former champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk by split decision at UFC 248 for her first successful defense. Namajunas & Weili met for the first time at UF 261. The fight lasted 78 seconds as Namajunas won by head kick knockout.
The feature fight will see former Bellator champion “Iron” Michael Chandler against Justin “The Highlight” Gaethje. After more then two years away, former champion Luke Rockhold returns to face streaking Sean Strickland. Top contenders meet at Bantamweight as former Lightweight champion, number eight ranked Frankie “The Answer” Edgar faces number thirteen ranked Marlon “Chito” Vera. And former women’s featherweight champion, number one ranked Bantamweight contender Germaine de Randamie faces number four ranked Irene Aldana.
UFC 268 is November 6th at Madison Square Garden in New York City.
