MVL 1 Results, Torres volume too much from Harris
The Paradise Hills Golf Course in Albuquerque New Mexico hosts Tapia Promtions MVL 1. The five-fight card is in honor of the late world champion Johnny “Mi Vida Loca” Tapia. One Bare Knuckle Boxing match joins four Boxing matches for one exciting night.
The rainy conditions didn’t damper the crowds spirit. The early lightning had everyone jumping out of their seats. And the 54 second technical knockout win from Maximus Moya kept them their. A vicious onslaught of left hooks from the Team Pitbull fighter lit up and quickly put down Carlos Ramirez. Daniel Gonzalez knockdown David Espino with left hook to the body right hook to the head in the first round. While Espino landed several good hooks it was the consistent body work that would lead Gonzalez to the win. The Power & Glory fighter improves to 2-0. The featured heavyweight Bare Knuckle affair was a bloody delight as expected. After landing a few nice single shots in the first round Terrance Brown end the bout with a left hook that bust Christopher Kharazi wide open above his left eye for the second round technical knockout. In the co-main event Matthew Griego knocked off a couple years of ring rust stunning Gilberto Mendoza with straight rights in the second round. The final four rounds were dictated by Griego’s left side attack as he took a unanimous decision win over Gilberto Mendoza. The main event saw Josh “Pitbull” Torres return to action from a fractured ankle going toe to toe with Reggie “Rampage” Harris for eight rounds. Harris made a strong account for himself but was unable to keep up with Torres’s pace. Harris found the opening on a few occasions cracking Torres with powerful hooks. “Pitbull” continually answered those shots back with four and five punch combinations keeping Harris on defense.
