Padilla’s Predictions UFC 289
UFC 289 is making noise in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada this Saturday night, Amanda Nunes will defend her Bantamweight World Title against top contender in Mexico’s Irene Aldana. Below will be some of Gabe Padilla’s predictions and best bets for UFC 289.
Dan Ige vs. Nate Landwehr
This fight is a potential fight of the night both these guys bring massive power and are very durable. Ige having more experience in the UFC and fighting top contenders. He himself I believe is more well rounded in all aspects. We cannot underestimate a fighter like Nate Landwehr who called his shot and not only earned this fight but also a new four fight contract because of his talent, grit and power he brings to every fight. I do believe Ige will be the better man but Landwehr will definitely be going nowhere as he is early in his UFC run.
Pick: Dan Ige, over 2.5 rounds
Mike Malott vs. Adam Fugitt
This welterweight bout should be another fight of the night candidate which is probably why it made the UFC 289 main card. Both these fighters are trying to make their way up the rankings and rarely see the score cards. They definitely both look for the finish every time. Mallott should come out strong and probably get the better end of Fugitt on the feet, but if Fugitt could engage and wrestle this fight cold sway in his favor with him either getting a great finish or taking the later rounds and finally getting a decision win which is rare for him.
Pick : Adam Fugitt
Charles Olivera vs. Beneil Dariush
Dariush on his track to world title shot faces Charles Olivera in very highly anticipated 155 pound co-main event. Dariush is more then likely takes this fight to the ground early but he has to be clean with his techniques to advance and get to where he wants be. Olivera will attack submissions and is a very live underdog. He defended his title and has fought and beat the best in the world.
Pick: Charles Olivera
Amanda Nunes vs Irene Aldana
In the main event Amanda Nunes will put her title on the line against Irene Aldana after Julianna Pena had to withdraw being the original scheduled opponent. Nunes very powerful and well rounded I believe will fight smart and safe to secure another title defense and at these odds currently at -330 favorite I believe is a smart bet. Aldana is a threat and has massive power as well, this fight is the main event for a reason.
Pick: Amanda Nunes, over 2.5 rounds
