BKFC 56 Results, Perry proves to be more Violent

For the first time Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is in the Beehive state for the first time. The Maverick Center in Salt Lake City is host to BKFC 56. The biggest cards in the promotions history features a superstar matchup, three world title fights, and the crowning of the first ever King of Violence. In the the main event former UFC & Bellator champion, the Underground King Eddie Alvarez battles the face of Bare Knuckle, “Platinum” Mike Perry.

To crown a king of violence one must expect to see violence taken to another level. Coming in many wondered how Eddie Alvarez would deal with Mike Perry’s size. Alvarez choose to get straight down the pipe and emphasis his speed advantage which worked perfectly in the first round. Perry continued to march through Alvarez’s shots. Slowly but surely, Perry would start to land his power punches. Each connection drawing a big reaction from Alvarez. A heavily damaged left eye would force the Alvarez corner to stop the fight before the start of the third round.

The doctor stopped the first fight between Christine Ferea & Bec Rawlings a fact that didn’t sit well with either competitor. This time the doctor would remain seated. Devoid of controversy the judges all agreed on a clean sweep from the opening round where Christine Ferea drew blood from Rawlings nose to working her jab, dictating the pace until the final bell. The moment and the night belonged to your still champion.

Howard Davis had questioned the validity of Kai Stewarts championship reign. The questions should be answered after Kai pushed the pace against Howard for five rounds. Stewart would get in Davis’s face from the opening bell, often forcing the fight into the clinch. When Davis was able to get distance snapping hooks and quick combos would find there mark. “Hefty Bag” would battle back with his hybrid style of wrestling and brawling, drawing blood from Davis’s mouth while draining his gas tank as the champion collected his first defense by unanimous decision.    

A rematch two years in the making between Mick Terrill & Arnold Adams for the vacant BKFC Heavyweight title pushed both men to their limits. Adams worked his educated jab, for the first two rounds drawing blood from Terrill’s nose and opening a trio of cuts. Suddenly Adams looks exhausted. Terrill took advantage of the opening pressing the pace forcing Adams to go down two times. Adams crumbling to the ground after a right hand unable to beat the 10 count to even the score with Adams and take

Jeremy Stephens won his BKFC debut by doctor stoppage. Jimmie Rivera had the edge in volume and accuracy before Stephens pulled down on Rivera’s head uppercutting open a laceration along Rivera’s left eyebrow. Between the third and fourth rounds the doctor stopped the fight.

Heavyweights normally are the guys looking for the knockout. Ben Moa showed his speed and ability to work the jab from long distance. The steady diet of jabs busted up Bridger Bercier to the point where the doctors waived it off in the third round.  The main card opened up with Erick Lozano stopping Mike Jones in the third round. Jones had things going his way early until Lozano scored his first knockdown. The end would come from a 10 count as Lozano placed a right hook around the guard   landing to Jones his left ear. The featured prelim was fought at a frantic pace with Esteban Rodriguez letting go of 155 punches in only three minutes wearing out Keegan Vandermeer. Trevor Bradshaw showed why the faith he has in his punching power is well placed as he sent Troy Dennison into a face plant off a right hand. A second right secures Bradshaw his first win in the sport. The first fight on the card got out of the first round but went no further. Danny Hilton had caused a cut over LJ Schulz left eye, while a mouse formed under the eye closing it shut, leading to the doctors stoppage.
